On September 1st we Hatch Outdoors introduce the NEW Generation 2 Finatic Fly Reels - an evolutionary update from the original tried and true Finatic. Consistent with Hatch's uncompromising commitment to premium quality there have been several significant performance improvements and aesthetic enhancements including: new 9 Window frame design, non-reflective mist finish, non stick cranks, concave frame design for additional weight relief, and teflon lip seals and shielded bearings that add a whole new level of protection against the elements. In addition, Hatch added a total of 10 custom color combinations, 1-2 color combinations to be released every 60-90 days, for the 2017-2018 sales year.

New Design Features

NEW BEAD BLAST MIST FINISH

For 2018 Hatch incorporated a mist finish on our entire line up of reels. Misting creates smoother edges and provides for a more consistent non-reflective finish throughout. Plus it looks pretty damn cool!

NEW CRANKS & COUNTERBALANCE

The Gen 2 Finatic incorporates an Ultraflon sleeve that covers the aluminum shaft and separates it from the aluminum crank handle. By doing this Hatch eliminated the chance for galvanic corrosion, so your crank will spin effortlessly for years to come.

NEW FRAME FEATURES

Gone from 7 windows in the Gen 1 Finatic to 9 windows in the Gen 2. We’ve also created a concave surface inside of the frame which eliminates unnecessary weight, thereby making the reel lighter without sacrificing any strength.

NEW LIP SEALS + BEARINGS

For 2018 Hatch added lip seals and shielded bearings to all their reels as a one two punch to protect against the elements and add a whole new level of water protection.

NEW STANDARD COLOR

Hatch added a new Mist Gray anodize to the standard reel line up for 2018.

NEW CUSTOM SHOP COLORS

In addition Hatch added a total of 10 Custom Shop color combination options available for the 2017-2018 sales year.

Gorge Fly Shop has ordered several Hatch Custom Shop Fly Reels for the 2018 season. These customs are available for pre-purchase now for future delivery. These reels will be offered in the Large Arbor configuration only. No extra spools available.
