| Fly Fishing from Cedar Lodge |
New Zealand’s reputation for the best
sight fishing for big trout is well deserved. Fishing waters here
vary from mountain streams, spring creeks, meadows and prolific
lakes. While fishing with a dry fly, I caught a huge rainbow that
later was mistakenly identified as a nice winter steelhead. As an
angler one doesn’t have to be world class—just opportunistic. By
the way I have yet to catch a winter fish on a parachute Adams.
Following are brief descriptions of two of the first class lodges in
New Zealand.
