RIO Euro Nymph Leaders and Tippet

RIO has added a bunch of new stuff this year for the euro nymph angler. Here is a quick breakdown of items.

New for 2020: Technical Euro Nymph Leaders

RIO'S Euro Nymph Leaders are designed with a unique taper to meet the needs of the European nymphing methods for competitors and first timers. The Technical Version of this leader is 14' with 2x/4x sizing. It comes with a high-viz two tone indicator tippet in either pink/yellow OR black/white options.

RIO Euro Nymph Leaders

This 11 foot leader first appeared back in 2017 and has been wildly popular ever since. Originally in pink/Yellow, Now for 2020 is also available in Black/White.

New for 2020, RIO 2-Tone Indicator Tippet in Black/White. Also available in Pink/Yellow

Tie in as a straight indicator tippet or use it to build "slinky" sighters. Available in 1x to 6x.

New for 2020: RIO Euro Nymph Shorty

ULTRA-THIN, SUPER-SENSITIVE FLY LINE, designed for converting a regular fly line into a Euro Nymph line

The line is deliberately made short (20 feet) so it can be added to the front end of a regular fly line utilizing the thin welded loop on each end.

The idea is that anglers can fish their normal fly fishing style with their regular trout line, and when they come to a run they want to fish Euro nymph style, they simply loop the Shorty on and start nymphing. RIO FIPS Euro Nymph Fly Line

The Euro Nymph Line was designed by Steve Parrott to satisfy the need for a one size fits all European style Nymphing line that is competition legal. The line is built on a thin diameter, low stretch, supple core to maximize sensitivity and allow for lightning fast hook sets, while a highly visible tip helps anglers detect the slightest of strikes. This line is designed specifically for European style nymphing techniques, such as "French”, "Czech”, "Polish”, and "Spanish” styles.

Ton of anglers are discovering the greater aspects of fishing on or drifting nymphs near river bottoms.

Have you showed up to a river only to find no fish looking up and wondering where they are hiding. They're not hiding! They're near bottom eating bugs. You want to catch them you've got to fish where they are.

The great feature of Euro style nymphing is you get to dial in to the watershed you're fishing. While there is literally hundreds of videos and tons of blogs on this subject the end user gets to define what works through his own discoveries and interpretations. There are no absolute rules to follow or century old traditions to adhere to. It's just an angler, a fly rod, a box of nymphs and your own ideas.

Our kit is just that too. It's just an assembled outfit of proven equipment that gives new euro anglers a place to start with the ability to build on for each individuals future.

One Stop Euro Nymph Outfit
We started with the very popular Echo Shadow II Fly Rod in the 3100-4 size. We added a quality reel, the Sage Spectrum C 5/6. This machined die-cast reel makes for a good balance for the long rod. We then went with the popular RIO FIPS Euro Nymph Fly Line and RIO Euro Nymph Leader. Spool that up with some backing and you've got an outfit ready to go to work for you.
