Sage looked at every aspect of what a great spey reel should function as and incorporated every known detail to accomplish it. The list of innovation is long, but worth it! 

Let's start with the Frame 

The reel foot has been offset in order to center the mass of the reel and provide perfect balance. This benefits the user by not having to correct rod angle for an off balanced reel. This innovation provides an all day comfortable rod grip both for when you are swinging your fly and in balance in your cast. The reel foot has radiused edges to prevent line kinking or memory in the stored position. Wide palming rim offers users additional control while fighting a fish. Easy retrieval direction change. Drag System

In addition to the disc drag there is also a Dual Clicker Systems. Not only does this emit audible exceptional sound but also eliminates free spool rotation, so casting distance will not be decreased while fishing.

G.Loomis IMX-PROc Creek Fly Rods for Trout

One would think Fly fishing creeks for trout would easy. It's actually quite challenging. Stealth is the upmost importance but when you have successfully acquired position, next your skills must come to play. The first time I fished creek water I was surprise by both how inadequate my skills were for the situation but also how poorly my rod performed in the same situation. Successful creek fly fishing takes much more than just any short fly rod. 

A creek fly rod needs to be a moderate action. One needs to be able to slow down their stroke and allow time to create successful presentations. With that moderate action the rod tip also needs to behave to help with consistent, accurate casting loops. 

A creek fly rod also needs to load with limited amount of line out. A proper cast starts with good feel even at short distances. 

And with those characteristics the rod also needs to track true to set up accurate cast. Modern graphite with advanced taper designs coupled with precision wrapping techniques produces rods that track true.

All of these attributes had to be collectively taken into consideration to produce a truly fine and modern creek rod.

Ross Reels Limited Edition - Coors Banquet Reel 7/8

Ross Reels have been at the forefront for creating limited edition reels with proceeds of the sales going to non profits in the industry from Trout Unlimited to river relief programs.

SafeSpace Summer of Hope Fundraiser August 10th 2024

SafeSpace's Summer of Hope Fundraiser is happening next weekend right here in Hood River Oregon. 

This Christmas will mark 6 years of our annual toy drive for our friends at SafeSpace.  What started out as an idea to support our local non profit at the Holiday's has blossomed into so many great things all thanks to the support you have provided.

One customer in particular (Terry Watson) has been so generous with donations and earlier this Summer we have created SafeSpace Closet.  He has generously supplied clothing and so more they now have the ability to provide clothing to children if needed while they are at SafeSpace.

You maybe asking yourself. What is SafeSpace?  That is a great question.  When there is suspicion of possible child abuse children are referred to SafeSpace.  At SafeSpace the child undergoes all necessary interviews/medical exams in one space.  This means the child only has to tell their story once.  Prior to SafeSpace this took place over several days and multiple different places including an ER and or a Police station.  Revictimizing the child each time.   Additional details about SafeSpace

Their next big goal is to fill in the piece of mental health care for these children.  Providing the support and healing that is needed for these children to heal and go back to being children again.  

SafeSpace Columbia River Gorge serves the Columbia River Inter-Tribal and the four tribes in our area Umitilla, Warm Springs, Yakima and the Nez Perz, plus Gilliam, Wasco, Hood River, Wheeler and Klickitat Counties.  Their resources stretched thin as the demand for their services has been really high this year and growing.

Child abuse is not something anyone wants to talk about, but our children deserve us to talk about it and do a better job at protecting them.
