Last Days for our SafeSpace Toy Drive

Where has this month gone....we are entering our last few days to receive donations to our Toy Drive for SafeSpace. You can come into the shop and visit us and drop off a donation or if you are too far away to come in and see us then you can call the shop and we will be happy to accept your donation over the phone. All donations go directly to SafeSpace. We appreciate everyone who has already donated, it really means a lot and every little bit helps as they prepare to move into a new space here in Hood River.

SafeSpace is entering the final stages of their capitol campaign to raise money to move into a new space. One of the biggest parts that makes Children's Advocacy Centers so important is that they are able to interview children, perform medical examinations and if needed offer mental health and other support during this process which used to have to take place at a local police station and/or doctors office. Now, this all takes place in warm and comforting environment. These kids have already experienced so much trauma that being able to be in a comforting space, during this process eases the anxiety and fear that comes with this process that has to happen so the right people can gather as much information as needed with making it as stress free as possible.

While we are supporting our local Hood River office these services are all over the country and I'm sure in your area and you may not know they exist unless you needed their services. Children should not have to go through this, but until we can stop Child abuse, child sexual abuse and child neglect we need to have these services present. That is what your donations are doing, and we thank you so much!!!
