Columbia Gorge Fishing Reports - 3.11.2022

Trout - Deschutes River:

Deschutes trout get very active over the next few months and this can be some of the best fishing of the year. You will find a real mixed bag of fishing opportunities this time of year. There are still a few Skwala Stones around and good Blue Winged Olive hatches on the colder damp days. March Browns will start popping out in a week or two. Don’t forget your trout spey outfit, March, April and May can be great streamer fishing!

Mount Hood Lakes:

Going to be awhile before we see any mountain lake action. Stay tuned...

Steelhead -

We got a good blast of rain last week, which pulled in some fresh fish all over. We are set up for a bunch more rain this week. This will probably blow most of the Steelhead rivers out, but should pull a bunch more fish up. Steelhead fishing looks very promising for the next month.

Smallmouth Bass / Carp:

Smallmouth and carp are pretty elusive this time of year.
