Burkheimer Fly Rod Company has been in the rod building business over 25 years and have earned the reputation of "One at a time, One of a kind". Every Burkheimer rod is a custom built fly rod. Gorge Fly Shop first started selling these work of art fly rods about 10 years ago. Since that time we have filled many orders all around the world.

Today we bring to you a streamlined way to order a Burkheimer rod from our website. Careful attention to options allows you the buyer to build your new rod the way you want it. Choose from the different finishes or whether you want to add an extra tip section for no other reason than the security of knowing you have it if the need arise. We couldn't list all possible ways to order a Burkheimer rod so if you wish for something you don't see listed please give us a call to discuss details.

C.F. Burkheimer Rods are made to order with the utmost attention to quality and perfection. While we may have a couple of Burkheimer rods in stock at any one time it would be best to plan on a special order of the rod you want. Special order Burkheimer rods may take up to 8 weeks. It's not up to us to determine how long a special order rod may take. We are at the mercy of C.F. Burkheimer when it comes to how long will it take. So plan on waiting. If you have a time line of need for a rod I would strongly suggest you consider something available...Please don't be in a hurry for a Burkheimer rod. Kerry and his master builders live by the motto "One of a kind, one at a time" meaning no mass production. I think that pretty much sums it up!

The Classic, The Presentation and The Vintage are the three grades you will find in the the Trout and Two Hand Series of rods. The rod blanks themselves are the same for each grade, the difference is aesthetics.

The Classic: While a Classic may be a base model Burkheimer rod they are anything but standard. From the Deep Cedar Green color blanks to the three layer cork inlays the classic build is premium.

Trout Classic

The Presentation: The presentation build is the upgraded model utilizing high end components like handmade Snake Brand nickel silver guides and high quality reel inserts and seats. Additional inlays on the cork and cobalt blue color really defines the attention to detail on a presentation model.

The Vintage: The Vintage utilizes modern upgraded components finished in smoked nickel on a translucent black black to get that vintage look. Trout models have agate stripping guides

Titanium Grade

Saltwater, Tarpon and Bluewater models come in The Classic grade as well as a Titanium grade. The Classic grade utilizes T-6061 Aluminum for the reel seat and Nickel Silver guides with ceramic stripper guide insert. The Titanium grade utilizes Titanium reel seats and REC Recoil Titanium Guides and a cobalt blue colored blank.

DAL Trout Vintage Grade

Trout and Steelhead Fly Rods also come in a DAL models, (DEEP ACTION LOAD). As the name implies these rods load deep into the full flexing blank yet have firm tip action for fast recovery. The more relaxed stoke of this series make these rods a pleasure to cast and are versatile fishing sticks.

Warranty and Repair - 

C F Burkheimer rods are under warranty to the registered original owner for life. Accidents or misuse are not covered under this warranty. However, if a mishap takes place resulting in a broken section, C F Burkheimer will repair or replace the part for a nominal fee.
