Product Highlight - Hardy Zane Fly Reels

The Hardy Zane is a saltwater ready reel complete with caged frame,(caged frame on 10000 & 12000 size), and carbon fiber multi plate drag system claimed to have 8-14 lb drag rating depending on size. The finish on this reel is a non-flashy gunmetal. Pictures tend to make it look more silver than it is, especially Hardy's stock photos. Must have been pretty popular, enough for Hardy to let go of the past model in favor of the 1939. When we looked through Hardy's history to find the best tackle to commemorate our 150th anniversary, it was quickly agreed that the Lightweight series in the 1970 edition was the correct choice to reisssue. A series that is a true Hardy original, and also price accessible, ensures the broadest participation in our celebration of Hardy. The full range is being reissued with a nickel silver double screw line guide, raised spindle casing, and a collectable leather reel bag. The line guard is marked with an engraved commemorative dating of 1872-2022 and will only be sold through December 2022.

New to the Ultralite Series of fly reels Hardy came up with a unique design. To reduce weight they made part of the frame with carbon fiber. The outer frame is machine aluminum alloy and the inner part is carbon fiber.
