February 29th, 1992 Travis Duddles opened Gorge Fly Shop. This was four months before his high school graduation. He completed his classes early so he could open the shop, and then walked with his class in June of the same year.

Travis Duddles had an idea to open a fly shop. Convincing his mom that the worst that could happen was he would end up with some extra fishing gear and would have to find another career option. With his business plan and hard work he has built Gorge Fly Shop to what it is today. Travis runs his business with integrity, honesty and passion. He must be doing something right!

Customers return for our friendly, knowledgeable customer service, and our wide stock of gear. Being able to pick up the phone, give us a call and get correct answers to your questions, and honest opinions on the right gear for your needs.
In 2019 Travis and Lyndsey made the decision to move off of Oak Street in downtown Hood River Oregon. Gorge Fly Shop was growing, additional staff, additional inventory, so we needed additional space. With lots of hard work, planning and support from family, friends, and staff Gorge Fly Shop moved to it's current location. This new location is right off of highway 35 just about 7 minutes from our previous location. With ample free parking, casting lawn, and space for our employees to work comfortably, plus and probably the most important is time to focus on each and every customer that walks through the door.
Gorge Fly Shop crew is hard at work running the day to day operations. Travis is still doing the books for the shop but now has time to follow his passion in other areas. Yes, this does include fishing, but also he enjoys hunting, travel, racing his corvette in local autocross competitions, and spending time with his family.
Travis, Lyndsey and the entire staff of Gorge Fly Shop want to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to our customers, friends, staff and family for your support. Because without you we would not be here today.
