Product Highlight: Simms Coldweather Pant

Gear in the fly fishing world changes more rapidly with every passing year. In no category is this more true than clothing. That perfect piece you bought last year is likely a thing of the past by now. One of my personal favorite articles of fishing clothing that defies this mold is the Simms Coldweather Pant. 

If someone asked me what the best pair of pants I’ve ever owned for winter fishing was, this would be it. I still have a pair from their first run many years ago. Add a wicking base layer and you’re good to go in most weather. If it’s ice in the guides cold, add a mid-weight pant to the mix and you’re toasty. The velcro cuffs on the bottom hold tightly and prevent the legs from creeping up in your waders. They have all the pockets of a normal pair of pants and a look and fit that doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable when you go into a gas station. Needless to say, when my old pair finally gives up the ghost, I’ll be buying another pair immediately!
